1Another cracked pot!!!  Nov 08, 2025
STAY away from this crockpot. I used it maybe 5 times and it developed hairline crack right down the center. I called customer service and they made me fax my reciept, and then said they could offer me a replacement for $32.00. Totally unacceptable. I have had my other pot (a Rival) for 18 years without incident.

I will be buying another pot, but will stay far away from KitchenAid.
Wise buyers will do the same.

3Now it's cracked. When it works, it's great!  Oct 30, 2025
This was my first ever slow cooker and I was having a blast with it. So was the hubby! It couldn't be easier to program and has plenty of settings. I used it four times but now..... just like many of you.... I have a CRACKED base. I used it only FOUR TIMES and it's cracked.

Now..... I'll admit that I saw these reviews before I bought it and thought to myself, well obviously these people don't know the rule about taking a pot that's been sitting in the fridge or freezer and putting it right into the warm slow cooker because that will surely crack it. I thought.... those dummies... I'll show them! Well, I WAS WRONG. I never took it from the fridge or freezer and put it right into the warm cooker and IT STILL CRACKED!!!!! So, you're not dummies and I was completely wrong.

When this cooker works, it's fantastic. And then it cracks.

I just got off the phone with KitchenAid who said they've had complaints about this cooker but they only make one slow cooker so if I just fax them the receipt with some info, they'll send me a new one. What I don't understand, though, is that this is the same model because there is no other model so who's to say this won't crack either??

We'll find out when I get the new one.

1Another cracked crock  Oct 28, 2025
Do not buy this unit. Like many other reviewers, I have had 2 crocks crack. This is a problem with KitchenAid's quality control and they do not stand behind their product.

13 cracked pots - I'm done  Oct 18, 2025
KitchenAid Slow Cooker (KSC700SS) - Cracked Ceramic Pot
We are now using the third ceramic pot since we purchased this slow cooker in Oct 2007. I have been careful to follow all directions for the care of the ceramic pot. It is now cracked, after cooking two meals in it. The crack is now in the same place that it has been the past two times; this definitely speaks of a manufacturing defect, along with the testimony of all of the other users in this forum. This slow cooker was much more expensive than most at $129.99. I was happy to pay the difference because of the superior cooking features. I looked for a replacement ceramic pot and the price was $60. I am very disappointed, especially because I know I'll just end up with another cracked pot. Unless I receive a no charge replacement from KitchenAid with a lifetime guarantee and a letter saying that they have fixed the manufacturing problem, I am going to have to look for a new crock pot.

5Great slow cooker, buying a second for my large party!  Oct 15, 2025
I don't usually write reviews, but felt compelled because this only had 3 stars. This crock pot is absolutely great. It cooks food wonderfully, is large enough for big groups but also handles smaller dishes for our family of 4.

It heats quickly, is easy to use, the timer feature counts down automatically adn turns off if left on (over 9 hours I believe), I feel safe leaving it on all day while I am gone, it is easy to clean.. what more could you want in a cooker?

It is brilliant. I am having a very large party and I need another crock pot. I am in for a second! Love it.
