Another Calphalon Griddle Jul 21, 2010 We have been using Calphalon griddles for many years and like them. They heat up quickly, hold the temperature, and clean up easily. These griddles are well worth the money.
Works well! Jul 14, 2010 I've had this for about a month, like it a lot! No problems with sticking, non-stick flaking off, pan not staying flat, uneven heat, etc. Nice that it can go in the oven if needed! Very sturdy; I find it somewhat clumsy though - the handle is quite long and can easily hang over another burner, so if I want another pan in that slot I have to turn the griddle at an angle. Old griddle had a more convenient handle (not much else nice to say about it, though). The handle also makes it hard to hang on the pot rack - with the old griddle it had a thin 'ring' on the end of the handle and allowed several pots onto the same hook; this handle is thicker and rigid and putting two pans on the same hook is a recipe for one of them falling on the floor (or foot). I have a new fry pan that just fell and dented itself for this same reason. Need to find more hooks sometime soon. Anyway, cooking is great with this griddle, just the ergonomics of the handle are going to take some adjustment.
It Blisters Jun 01, 2010 Was looking for a griddle that would last and do the job, well this one worked great for about a week then I noticed that the pan had bubbles and blisters on the surface and that it was like paint was being rubbed of the edges.Stay away from this product. The pan never had more than a medium flame as I used it mostly to cook bacon, eggs, and grilled sandwiches.I,m going to cast iron.
great griddle May 22, 2010 This is great for bacon or making grilled cheese sandwichs, does pancakes quick also. Does not stick and fits the burner perfectley.
Want a true non-stick? Apr 19, 2010 I have had many 'non-stick' griddles in my lifetime and they have gone to griddle heaven. This griddle is great. I cook eggs (fry & omelets) on it without oil, butter, or any lubricant. They cook in a minute on low-medium after the pan is warmed up first as the directions state. It cleans off with the wipe of a paper towel. Of course, later I wash it too! For your information, you can cook other things on it to if you wish, I do.
