1Convoluted Cheap Switch Eliminates Long-term use  Jul 31, 2010
The "On" switch operates in the following manner. Working backwards, there is simply a recessed push button on the base which switches the motor on when depressed. There is a convoluted series of springs and cheap plastic arms that run through the plastic bowl, the handle, the lid and must be activated by the feed tube. There are at least 3 flimsy safeties. Safe to be sure, but one little cheap plastic piece breaks, and you must purchase the entire upper assembly to have the appliance operational again. A third of the cost of the unit because a 20-cent plastic piece breaks. Ridiculous.

It only holds 4-cups of liquid or it leaks all over the counter. This was one of consumer reports really good buys. So much for their research. $250 for about a year's worth of light-duty food processing.

THREE THUMBS DOWN Kitchenaid. Great motor, bad product.

5The Last Food Processor I Hope To Buy!  Mar 03, 2010
I already own a KitchenAid mixer, so when it came time to shop for a new food processor, I had pretty much made up my mind to choose a KitchenAid product. This is the second best appliance in my kitchen! It has a lot of great attachments and a convenient storage case for them. The juicer works so well that I can eliminate my Juiceman. I love the look of the brushed nickel. It is an excellent food processor and I am looking forward to using it every day for a long time to come. As always, Amazon had the most amazing price and there was also a $30.00 rebate, making it very affordable. Don't waste your money on anything less than a KitchenAid. If you have the money to buy one, this is a product that you will probably never have to replace.

1Go with the Cuisinart Elite  Jan 02, 2010
We purchased this Food processor after an extensive research, reading reviews on various sites, checking the product manuals and etc.
We had to return it after giving it couple of tries. Did not meet expectations whatsoever. The most disappointing was the fact that you could put only up to 5 (five!) cups of liquid into so called 12 cups food processor. This was NOT disclosed anywhere. This makes it pretty useless for most of the applications. Second biggest disappointment was that it leaked over the center under a stem. Cleaning was a nightmare. When we tried kneading the dough it was a disaster. With 2.5 cups of flour the machine would dance all over the counter. Dough would escape through the center and get under the stem. Try to get it out! We were quite patient and gave it couple of tries but gave up at the end! We returned it and bought a 14 cups Elite Cuisinart Food Processor. It has MOST of the attachments, much better ADJUSTABLE slicing disk, more convenient storage container, does not leak, has a separate dough setting and the same 3 bowls design which was one of the most convincing reasons for purchasing of this one. And - yes - it holds up to 10 cups of liquid in the main bowl and the level is marked on each bowl as well! I would definitely research that one if you are looking. It is just A BIT bigger but SO MUCH better!

5Love it!!  Oct 21, 2009
I searched all over the internet before deciding on this food processor and I was not disappointed. I love it! I've made all kinds of things in it and it does a great job. I really want to try some of the extra gadgets that it comes with too. All in good time... Best part was KitchenAid had a refund going on the same time I bought this, my mixer and my blender. Sweet. Definitely worth it if you're thinking about getting a new processor. You won't be disappointed and I found that Amazon was the cheapest.

5Love this food processor!  Aug 29, 2009
We recently purchased this KitchenAid food processor and love it! We have two kids under 3 in our house and needed a powerful machine that was QUIET. This one is that and so much more. I can puree baby food while the baby sleeps in the next room with the door open. And purees are so easy with such a powerful machine. Larger cooking & baking jobs are a breeze as well. The 3 bowl sizes offer flexibility and clean up for the entire processor is easy. It took us a while to figure out what had to be locked and in what order to get the machine to work, so do read the instructions. It is a large and heavy unit so it does take quite a bit of counter space, but it looks great and we use it so frequently I don't mind having it out and handy.
