great! Sep 28, 2025 bought this for my gf for her birthday, she loved it, worked well and it's just plain cool
Talk of the party Jun 26, 2025 I bought this pan for making a novelty version of my Caribean rum cake to take to party's, it was a huge hit. Only thing wrong was that no one wanted to be the first to cut into the awesome looking cake!
I was wondering how the cake was going to come out of the pan after baking but it was no problem after spraying and flouring the pan before baking it. This would be a great pan to use for childrens birthday parties as well. Add some flags to the towers and your good to go!
Cute Cake Pan Dec 08, 2025 Really cute cake pan. I've only used it a couple of times and it always looks great. Only downside is that it is so cute on its own that you can't really frost it. They recommend a glaze, which is also good, but I am a little partial to frosting...
Great Pan, Wish it Came with more Guidance Dec 04, 2025 My husband saw this pan in the store where it was priced $40.00. We decided that was a bit expensive for a pan we'd probably never use. Still he couldn't get over how cool he thought it was.
I found it on Amazon.com for significantly less and decided to buy it as a surprise to make his birthday cake in (he was thrilled). We've since used it to make cakes for guests, or at random moments, and we're about to make a "Ginger Cake Castle" to bring to his family's holiday party.
Other than the birthday cake, which I made from scratch, we've used boxed cake mixes and had great success.
Baker's Joy spray (nonstick spray containing flour) makes it a snap to get the cake out. Just give the inside of the pan a light spray all over before you add the batter (don't overdo it or you lose some of the castle details).
I let the finished cake cool for about 10 minutes before flipping the pan over on a wire rack, then I let it cool the rest of the way in the pan (overnight, usually) and give it a slight shake to release. I've been told I should release it after the first 10 minutes, but then I'm afraid the cake will go stale or get wrecked if I try to cover it before it's completely cooled off. It seems to work fine for me to leave it in the pan until completely cooled.
My only complaint is that I had a hard time locating some information about how much to fill it (2/3 to 3/4 seems to be the best). Most recipes seem to be for larger Bundt pans, so it was tricky. They should have supplied this basic information, and maybe a cake recipe, with the pan.
I haven't read the other reviews yet, but in case it hasn't been mentioned, the Betty Crocker website has a few recipes with some cute decorating ideas (it's where we got the inspiration for our Ginger Cake Castle plan).
Oh, and we haven't been successful at getting the cake to rise perfectly enough that we can see every last detail at the bottom of the finished cake (where the stairs and foundation rocks are) -- but we sure are having fun trying!
Fun and easy Oct 28, 2025 This pan is so easy and fun. The cake needs very little decorating with all the detail that is already there. I have made two Haunted House cakes so far and the one that looked the best was with chocolate cake.
