worked perfectly Jul 20, 2010 My grown daughter requested this for her birthday. She makes lots of cakes and thought a beater that scraped the bowl automatically sounded great. My birthday is 2 weeks after hers and she used the beater for my bd cake. She said it worked perfectly and was really glad to have it. She doesn't have to stop the mixer to scrape the sides of the bowl any more.
Great attachment for multi-taskers Jul 03, 2010 I love this attachment. I don't need to scrape my bowl with a spatula when I use this blade, which allows me to focus on other tasks while my KitchenAid does all of the hard work. I can work alongside my mixer and peek in periodically to check the status whatever I am mixing.
The blade seems cheap at first(it is plastic, instead of the nice metal ones that come with your mixer), but I've had mine for almost 3 years and never had a problem with it. It still feels sturdy, and I use my mixer fairly regularly. It could break tomorrow and I'd still feel I have gotten my money's worth out of it.
I was skeptical at first Jun 28, 2010 I have had my Kitchen Aid for 22 years and I never needed to buy a new part. When I saw this for sale, I decided to buy it. It really works....there is no need to scrape the bowl. It is worth the buy!!!
Just what I needed Jun 01, 2010 I use my Kitchen Aid all the time, when I first ordered the beater I was nervous it wouldn't be as strong as the original metal one, boy was I wrong! It's great - I no longer have to scrap down the sides every couple of minutes and mixing is much faster now! Great transaction and item arrived earlier then expected! THANKS!
I recommend it if you make cakes or cookies Jun 01, 2010 I bought mine a few weeks ago and it really does scrape the bowl. Before, I had to scrape, scrape scrape, especially with cheesecake. I like that it's so lightweight. I wish I'd bought one years ago?
So why not five stars? It does tend to make a mess, although gradually increasing the speed helps. I definitely use the pour shield (if you don't have one, order one with this beater b/c you will regret it otherwise). Because it flings softer batters so, I still have to scrape the sides at the TOP of the bowl which is not that big a deal. It is harder to scrape all the batter off the blade itself, so a little more goes to waste. I am leery of putting it in the dishwasher b/c the rubber does look like it could get brittle. When you have a batter with a high fat content, it's much easier to stick your blade in the dishwasher (we keep the water temp low b/c of our kids so others might not prefer the dishwasher for this), so that's a little bit of a drawback. I would give this 4.5 stars if I could.
