It really does mix the batter, even at the bottom of the mixing bowl. It does cut the amount of time blending and does not leave a lot of batter on the blade. Worth the money. After the first time I used it on the Kitchen Aid blender (here is a tip - don't buy Kitchen Aid blenders, they are poorly designed), I could not help wondering why Kitchen Aid could not think to design something useful like the Beater Blade.

This is an excellent product and performed exactly as expected. One caution, however. DO NOT turn the mixer up to the highest speed when using this blade -- it will fling your batter right out of the bowl.

Great Beater Blade Feb 05, 2026
I bought the New Metro Design Beater Blade for my Kitchenaid Artisan mixer. I love the "metro" beater blade. For all we pay Kitchenaid, they should include this blade with the mixer!! It does a nice job of scraping the bowl. I have the 5 quart bowl that came with the mixer, and then bought a 3 quart bowl as well, for smaller jobs. This blade works with both bowls nicely. I would recommend it to all Kitchenaid mixer users.

I would have liked to know that when you first start the mixer to be a low speed. If the mixer is too fast it will splatter some of the ingredients out of the bowl. For some reason, after all the ingredients are mixed there is always a small area on the beater that still has some dry ingredients on it. This beater does a nice job on cleaning the side of the bowl and mixing the ingredients. It is light weight and can also go in the dishwaher.

New Metro Design Beater Blade for 5-Quart KitchenAid Tilt-Head Mixers, WhiteAlthough the beater blade works very good it is not made very sturdy. I do not believe it is dishwasher safe. Definitely over priced.
