Broke after a year Sep 15, 2025 I'm not sure how long these are expected to last, but mine broke about a year after purchasing. Shattered into several pieces while stirring a soup.

still have it Jul 09, 2025 We've had it for about 3 years with no problems. However, it does not tend to get as much use as our other wooden spoons.

Same problem: split right away Apr 09, 2025 We always hand wash our wooden spoons. The bowl of the spoon split after just a a few months.

Love this spoon, but............ Apr 03, 2025 I love this spoon but I fear I must agree with another reviewer here in that beechwood is simply NOT the wood these implements should be made from. As I said, I love this spoon, but to be honest with you, I have gone through three of them over the past two years. They simply will not hold up even with hand washing. The olive wood spoons and tools I purchased while in Europe are an absolute delight and I have one that I stole from my mother that is well over thirty years old and is still going strong. She bought her spoon in Italy. Now Oxo does make some very nice and affordable products...goodness know I have plenty of them in my kitchen, but this particular wooden spoon is not one of them.
I carve in wood and sculpt in wood. I know, it is usually a guy thing, but then I am a bit different, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I have five chunks of hickory and several pieces of osage orange in my attic right now drying and curing. I plan to carve my own spoons this winter. We will see how that goes.
Overall I have to give this product only three stars even though I love it, because it simply will not hold up.

Cracked along glue edge after 3 uses Mar 09, 2025 This spoon cracked along glue edge after only 3 uses i was very dissapointed! I bought a 12 pack of bamboo spoons at walmart for $3 to tide me over for now until I can find some that are made of solid wood.
