Best wine opener yet Jan 23, 2026 I saw this at a relative's home and knew I had to have it. It works great because it avoids the need to use effort to lift the cork. No spillage anymore. The top comes off to use as a foil cutter, great idea. Probably not as effortless as the Rabbit, but a great opener especially for the price.
removes cork effortlessly! Jan 05, 2026 For years of opening about two to three bottles of wine a week, my Zyliss corkscrew finally broke. I got my money's worth out of it, so I had no problem dishing out another $25 for a new one. However, in searching the internet high and low, I not only found that it was discontinued for some strange reason, but that it was pretty much extinct. I'd come across a cheaper version of it made by Faberware, but that thing broke the second time I used it. However, when searching for the Zyliss, I noticed the Oxo Steel Corkscrew would infrequently come up in search results, and I'd read from Amazon customer reviews that it's very similar to the Zyliss, so I bought one here on Amazon a couple of months ago. I'd say those reviews are correct, very much in the way the Zyliss works, as well as how well it works. In fact, the Oxo works even better than the Zyliss, as the cork comes out of the bottle even more smoothly and effortlessly. Also, it's partly a foil cutter, which my Zyliss wasn't. The foil cutter also works great, but it only removes the top of the foil, and I usually like to remove the entire foil with a box cutter. I'm surprised by the reviewer who said his broke within seven months, because the Oxo seems VERY solidly built. I've only had mine for a couple of months, so I'm curious to know how common that is, but this is at least the easiest corkscrew to use that I've ever owned.

Does a Good Job Jan 03, 2026 I like the facts that it has no motor to break; it doesn't take up space on the kitchen counter; it is easy to use and lastly - it works well

Lasted 7 months, now useless Dec 19, 2025 Purchased May 2010, screws holding down handle stripped out of base December 2010. I was shocked, the weight of this thing is like a tank, I thought it would last forever.
Foil cutter still works!

Replaces my Zyliss Sep 11, 2025 I have been very happy with a Zyliss of the same mechanism for years, however the plastic eventually broke. The OXO works very well, especially if one does not have strong hands. The foil cutter is hard to remove, but frankly I don't use those anyway. I am very pleased.
