Decent product Aug 25, 2025 When this product arrived from Amazon, my first thoughts were that it looked very flimsy. The metal prong looks like it could easily be bent out of place. The handle is a nice touch - easy to grip - but the prong leaves me with doubts.
So far, the product has worked as intended though. I have baked a few cakes, and it does show goo on the prong when the mixture is not completely cooked. It doesn't leave me with complete confidence that my cake is going to turn out okay, and every time I've used it so far, I have also relied on tried and tested method of sticking a knife in the cake also. It defeats the point to have this thing if I fall back on testing with a knife as well.
It'd be nice if this product came with different colored handles. I find the black handle hard to spot amongst the other cooking utensils when in the draw, and the narrow prong doesn't really stand out so well. It cleans well in the dishwasher, and despite my worry that it isn't going to work as intended, has done so so far.
I think I'd like to replace this product with something a bit thicker (and easier to find), but for the time being I am satisfied with it.
cake tester is perfect Nov 04, 2025 I got this cake tester on sale and am so glad I picked it up to round out my $25 free ship order.
It hangs by my stove . It makes only a very tiny hole in the cake.
Very good cake tester, easy to use and clean. Better than using wooden kabob skewers.

Get this!! Nov 03, 2025 Yes. I know you can just use a toothpick, but why would you when you have this? You can use a paper cup to drink from too but most of us use cups that are reusable don't we...
Sometimes you have to check something several times before it is done. That means using several toothpicks, or one of these.
If you bake, you need this. If you know someone who bakes, get this for them.

It's too thin to work well. Oct 25, 2025 This tester looks thicker in the photos than it actually is. It's quite a bit more thin than your average toothpick. It's so thin that it always comes out clean for me when I use it. I test with this cake tester and it comes out clean but a thin knife like I normally use comes out soupy. It's a neat product but it needs to be thicker.
Oxo Good Grips Cake Tester Oct 02, 2025 This was combined with multiple items I ordered that day and for some reason I could only leave the other seller feedback, so, here I give my review. We haven't used it but the packaging was quite sufficient for the trip. It has that neat handle, which I surmise, is heat resistent. I gave 4 stars only because I haven't used it yet. When we do I will return with another critique. I could very well raise to 5 stars - it this system will allow such actions. WLL
