5This thing is awesome.  Oct 02, 2025
I've never paid 20 bucks for a can opener before but it's worth it. It's compact and stylish. It opens cans with a minimum of effort. Cans can be resealed with a rubber band. You won't get cut on the rim of the can. What more could you want from a can opener?

5Excellent Product. Many Advantages Over Other Brands.  Sep 18, 2025
This is an excellent product. Here's why:

1. Sturdy. Easy and comfortable to grasp when using.
2. Minimal effort to turn mechanism. Easy on fingers.
3. Greatly reduces spill and overflow in opening cans.
4. Big shiny handle with red tip makes it easy to find in drawer.
5. No sharp edges on top after removal--a nice safety factor.
6. Stays cleaner than traditional can openers.

As noted in the description and many reviews, this product operates on a somewhat different basis than most other can openers. Don't worry. It's a no brainer to use.

Better than electric in my opinion. Cleaner, takes less space, just as easy to use.

5Works great, once you get used to it  May 21, 2025
This is the first can opener I've had to read the instructions in order to use. But once I figured it out, it was awesome.

No more sharp edges or struggling with traditional can openers whose wheels slip! Plus, the lids fit securely back on the cans for storage in the fridge once they're open.

Another nice bonus with this thing is that, because there is no blade that cuts through the can, it stays completely clean. No mess to clean up!

True, it is WAY more expensive than your typical generic can opener. Kind of a ridiculous amount to pay, actually. But hey, what's money if you can't spend it on fancy kitchen gadgets?

5The last can opener I will ever buy  Apr 22, 2025
I can't imagine the Deluxe Kuhn being improved on any time soon, and at any rate, I am so satisfied with it that I can't see myself spending money on a replacement even if it is. This thing is innovative, sturdy, attractive, practically effortless to use, and superior in every way to every other opener I have come across.

I was surprised to read a review here claiming that for the elderly and those with arthritic hands, this opener is more difficult to use than conventional openers. While I do not have manual mobility issues myself, this is so far from my own experience that I really wonder if the reviewer owns a defective sample. There is no can opener I have ever used that comes close to my Deluxe Kuhn in ergonomics/ease of use. The large, vinyl-covered knob, which has a somewhat soft feel and is easy to grip between thumb and two fingers, spins freely on its own when the opener is not engaged, as though it runs on ball bearings. In use, I find it difficult to impossible, in fact, to gauge when I have finished running through the can and am simply twirling round through the opened gap. Perhaps it is the fact that it turns in the horizontal instead of the vertical plane that causes problems for some people.

5Perfect can opener with a learning curve  Apr 17, 2025
I've used this can opener for the last couple of years and love it. It does a perfect job each time.
However, I remember being frustrated the first few times. The reason was that I tried to place it on the can at the same angle that I used to place the other can openers. It doesn't work like that. One should place it on the can perpendicular to the can, and not on the sides. You'll notice that the opener grips the can, and you can turn the knob until it goes a full round.
What a great invention !!
