Beware...Krups provides VERY poor customer service Feb 16, 2025 I have had this coffee maker for just under a year, and would characterize my usage as 'light' (once a weekend)... It makes great coffee, but is poorly constructed. When pulling the carafe out to pour a cup of coffee recently, the metal band holding the handle to the carafe came loose causing the handle to un-clip; coffee and glass EVERYWHERE ! It appears that the screw holding the band in place stripped through the plastic of the handle.
I called Krups for a warranty replacement, and after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, was brushed off by the service rep on the phone who told me a manager would call me back within 24 hours before she tried to hang up without taking my call back details !
Very disappointing... buyer beware.
Krups has made some improvements Feb 15, 2026 I originally purchased this coffee maker about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago it died (wouldn't heat or pump water) and I ordered an exact model replacement. Why did we order the same one again? Simply put, this machine makes great tasting coffee and three years of service seems reasonable given the state of 21st century manufacturing. Prior to this we had the Cuisinart version which doesn't produce very good tasting coffee -- I don't think that it gets the water hot enough and doesn't grind very well.
Now that I've had a week or so with the new Krups, I'm happy to say that Krups has improved the machine and has largely fixed my 3 three main complaints with the original (which you will see echoed throughout the other Amazon reviews):
1. Poorly designed carafe spout -- They have changed the shape a bit and it's not nearly as bad as the original in that you can pour a bit faster now without spilling. Having said that, it's still not that great but very livable now.
2. Carafe lid not detachable -- Now it is which makes clean up that much easier. We don't put ours in the dishwasher. So, I can't comment on that.
3. Spaying grounds at the end of the grinding cycle -- The old machine would spray about 1/2 tsp of grounds when the filter basket closed. They seem to have adjusted the tension of the mechanism such that the grounds are almost entirely contained.
LOVE this Grinder/Brewer, but hate "shaking" it! Feb 13, 2026 After reading reviews for the Cuisinart machines, I decided to buy this grinder/brewer from Krups, and have been VERY happy. I was previously using a separate grinder and a different brewer, but there were always stray coffee grounds all over the counter, and with the added steps of opening & shutting cabinets and wrapping the electrical cord on the grinder, and etc., well, I just got TIRED of all the extra steps and the mess -- just for a cup of decent-tasting coffee.
It has almost been a year of mess-free and minimum steps with the reward of a GREAT tasting cup of coffee brewed exactly how I love it!
The "only" negative I have found, is that after the coffee has been ground, not all of the coffee makes it into the brewer. There is quite a significant amount of ground coffee which stays stuck in the channel between the grinder and the filter. If you leave the ground coffee in the channel, the next time you make a cup of coffee, the by then stale ground coffee is pushed into the filter along with the newly ground coffee -- which defeats the effort to individually grind coffee to get the freshest tasting brew.
When I called to discuss this problem with Krups, they just told me to tilt the entire coffeemaker forward and "shake" the excess coffee out of the channel the next time I used the brewer. I can't help but think that this is a very barbaric and ungainly procedure to do to a sophisticated and elegant coffeemaker.
Well, since I spent almost $200.00 to get a great cup of coffee, I do find myself daily vigorously shaking the poor machine, hoping it doesn't break apart, or that I don't drop it onto the floor. Hmmm... I think a man must have designed the machine. 8-)

Wonderful machine-for a long as it worked! Feb 07, 2026 This machine makes the best tasting coffee we have ever brewed. We had a Cuisinart Grind and Brew before, never with any problems, but I really wanted a burr grinder and when the Cuisinart finally gave out the search for a new machine was on. After much research, I chose the Krupps KM7000. There were some negative reviews, but overall it looked like the best fit for us. As many reviews point out, read the directions first and you wont have any problems. It brewed a great cup of coffee, was relatively quiet and easy to use.
Until this morning. A few days ago I noticed a very high pitched sound coming from the back of the machine during the brewing process. After a few seconds it stopped. I brewed coffee two more mornings without issue and then this morning I filled it with water, turned it on, it ground the coffee and then, Nada-nothing, no coffee. I turned it off, re-set it, dumped out all the water, whole beans and fresh grounds, and tried again. All the lights come on, you hear the "click" as if it were going to start brewing and nothing happens. I tried that twice, read the manual and have had no luck getting it to brew.
Krupps has no place on their website regarding returns(other than send it back for a full refund within 30 days) or if a machine breaks down, so I guess it will be a phone call in the morning. I hope, unlike the other reviewer(s), who are still waiting on his machine to be returned after a month, I will have better results. We have only had the machine about 8 months and only brew coffee 1x every morning. That dosent seem like excessive use to me, nor would I have expected a machine this expensive to give out after only 8 months of use.
Well, I must go and find some coffee somewhere..............
Won't grind dark beans Feb 06, 2026 This machine worked great for a while. Now, one year later, we already had to ship it to an authorized dealer to have a fuse replaced. Also, French Roast beans clog the machine. I have cleaned it many many times as well as I can. One problem is there is no way to really clean it out. You can only get to the end of the shute and where you put the beans in. There is no way to clean the inside of the machine where the beans are ground. I guess that means we are done. When clogged, it just won't grind.
I certainly would not recommend this machine. Wonder what to try next, or just go back to separate grinder.
Oh, I agree with everyone how ridiculous the carafe is. How can they make a carafe that can't pour without spilling!
