 Great little cherry pitter, highly recommended!! Dec 01, 2025
I first started getting really into kitchen gadgets a couple of years ago. I loved the idea of this cherry pitter, but I balked at the price. Why spend almost $15 on what Alton Brown would call a "uni-tasker," or an item which is made to serve one and only one purpose? Especially if I'm going to use it only a few months out of the year, when summer cherries are available?
Well, I bought it anyway, and I am SO glad I did. Even if you use it just once or twice per year, it pays for itself. You can get through a pound of cherries for pie, fruit salads, desserts, etc. in 5 to 10 minutes with a minimum of fuss, and without having to cut the cherries in half! Sure, occasionally a cherry sticks and I have to pull it off with my fingers, and sometimes the (otherwise awesome) splatter guard falls off every once in a while. But it's well worth it. If you have ever spent hours and hours cutting cherries into halves or quarters and coming away with your fingers stained red, you will LOVE and appreciate this pitter when you are done and your hands are CLEAN! And although I haven't tried it myself, I heard it works to pit small olives, too. ;-)

This works wonderfully as an olive pitter, we have used it a couple times a week for the last three years! Simple and sturdy design. And yes, it also works on cherries :)

Good price and service. I love fresh cherries in the summer and olives all year round, this gadget works great with both, I'm very pleased with the product.

This product works great! I read the reviews for the kitchen aid cherry pitter and I was surprised that it didn't get better reviews. After doing a little searching I came across Oxo brand and the reviews were good so this was the pitter I went with. We eat a lot of cherries during the cherry season and this one held up and wasn't messy! The splash gurad workds great. I put a bowl under the pitter for the pits to fall in and there was very little effort needed to get the pits out. I guess my only one down fall for this product would be you need to make sure the fit falls out. There were some cases with smaller cherries where it would pit the cheery but it wouldn't push the pit all the way out. I pit several cherries at time and leave them in a bowl to just grab from the fridge and we found a few with pits still attached. This wasn't often though! I'm very happy with this product and I have recommended it to several of my friends. I have not tired it with olives but I'm sure it would work just as well.
